The Miner is, simply put, a redstone item that mines blocks—an extended/expanded version of the Crafter. It can be crafted using a Copper Ingot, a Dispenser, a Pickaxe, and Redstone Dust.
Whenever it receives a redstone signal, the Miner breaks the block attached to the side with the human-face-like front.
The Miner has durability, and its durability is based on the durability of the pickaxe used to craft it. Like other copper items, it oxidizes over time (and can be waxed). The more it oxidizes, the slower it becomes at breaking blocks.
For the block-breaking behavior, I have two ideas:
-
The Miner breaks a block only when it receives a redstone signal.
-
Like the Copper Bulb, once it receives a redstone signal, it continues breaking blocks until it receives another redstone signal to change its state.
This may sound simple, but these details are important factors that affect the game’s balance, so please consider them carefully.
