I love the chubby rabbit models in the newest snapshot, but they seem a bit out of place when wild rabbits are often lean and muscular. I think rabbits would benefit from having more variation in between certain biomes, as well as being able to spawn in more biomes.
Since rabbits already have many color variations, some of them being domestic, adding a second body type (like "fluffy") might be a good alternative to changing existing colors into warm/cold/temperate variants. Regular rabbits being a bit thinner than the new model, while fluffy rabbits have an armor layer similar to sheep or cold animal variants.
Regular rabbits can spawn in biomes that are warm/temperate or wide open, such as plains, snowy plains, deserts, savannas, and badlands (I think this would fit, since the new brown rabbit is a bit red). Fluffy rabbits, on the other hand, could spawn in cold, heavily forested areas, or high up in the mountains.
Rabbits that spawn in cherry groves, meadows, and flower forests could have an increased group size, as a reference to the fact that only one species of rabbit (the European rabbit) will live communally.
White rabbits could also be changed to have black eyes, which can spawn in the wild, with all rabbits having a small chance to spawn in as albino.
Black, white, and white splotched rabbits, of any size, could spawn in pens in villages, since these colors are more common in domestic rabbits than wild rabbits.
