Don’t change baby animal texture

The snapshot textures are soulless and basic, the original textures have their charm in their funny proportions and makes the game feel like minecraft. Changing to more realistic textures just makes the game more bland and less unique as it is now like every other game in baby animal texture. The current baby chicken with the massive head can never be beat

    I will genuinely uninstall if they release this snapshot. At least give us the option. Make it like the fancy bubbles option to have on or off.

    This is more cuteslop from the inept development team trying to add marketable "cute baby animals" - just like the happy ghast was. Don't forget we are in the longest stretch without a major update since launch. Game drops were a historic mistake and this is yet another symptom of Mojang's fundamental lack of vision or direction. So many improvements they need to make and instead we have to waste time remodeling baby animals to drum up more "cute thing" hype for another cycle. We do not need more realistic looking "cute" baby animal models, "Pixel Consistency" is a myth, the old models looked leagues better and all this amounts to is a waste of resources. How about they send their texture artists to design a green wood type instead - something players actually have been asking for.

    Honestly, if they just added white pixels on eyes on some of the New textures (like the pig or ocelot) it would be fine

    it's very bad, we don't need that, simple as that, keep them the same, we play and comeback to the same minecraft game not because of the updates.

    I agree, they look soulless, like plushies. The lack of whites in the eyes is super "Un-Minecraft".
    However I do prefer the new chickens.
    The cube is so cute and I've always thought that the original looks out of place.
    The head Is just too tall and changing the dimensions by a pixel or so would be weird.

    A thing I'd like to highlight and a big reason for why I really like the original giant heads is that babies usually struggle to hold their heads up, at least for humans.
    And displaying the same cute phenomenon in the game I think is really neat.

    it so BAD the baby sheep looks like a skinwalker im scared more than this than i was of herobrine when i was 8 plus the old ones werent even bad and i dont see a reason for this to be changed

    im 50/50 on them. some look really cute, some look cursed, but i really hate the new rabbit. out of place animations that look janky (they were going for the dog cocking its head thing but failed so hard), less adorable proportions, and most heinously, they got rid of its nose

    This reaction is the reason Mojang makes so many nothing-burger updates. Mojang is afraid of mass community outrage whenever they change nearly anything that already exists, even if its soley visual. They changed Baby mobs, and people have somehow found a way to accuse them of trying to "slopify" Minecraft. The people who complain that Mojang is trying to "cutesify" the game actively ignore the fact that they've added camels with exposed ribcages who have dead bodies riding on top of them, and weeping angels who lurk in creepy forests, seemingly blending in with the other trees. 

    There can be cute, and there can be creepy, and there is. People just love to forget and complain.

    Also, the current baby chickens get beaten to a pulp by the new chicks, don't lie to my face and say otherwise.

    I personally extremely dislike the visual change, I dont see why you even thought this was a good idea, why spend so much r&d on cosmetics of a game people have played for 10+ years.
    This feels like corprate rebranding, where a new look is done to distract us from the fact that you arent making any significant mechanical or feature changes/updates to the game, with ideas that you take from the community, but give no credit for popularization of ideas.
    In a cutesy game where we like to escape from the real world to live in a sandbox, id like to not be reminded of corprate rebrands, changing the skin of my beloved animals for no reason, while the game gets more and more unplayable a la bedrock edition.

    Maybe people wouldnt be so upset about it if it was togglable option, and if bedrock edition was actually playable.

    Stop making cosmetic changes until your game is fixed, and parity is solved.

    I feel strongly about this I am in disbelief something this iconic would be changed. I cannot beleive my little brother who I had just bought a minecraft baby pig plush for, is going to grow up and ask me about the times when the minecraft pigs looked like the one he has in his stuffed animal. My favorite stuffed animal growing up was the same one and I had five of them, my little pigs. Such a soft spot in my heart for baby minecraft piggies but now it’s all unfortunately going away. Please revert this we are begging

    Hey Mojang, we want minecraft to stay minecraft and not to become such a "cute" game. I think you don't have to change it completely back but some textures should be revised!

    No guys, don't you see, baby mobs look better (especially the baby chicken) but you are also kinda right, the eyes look a bit soulless by being purely black and I will also miss the old designs a bit. But I seriously like the new designs. Don't let nostalgia take over you!

    I don't understand why Mojang keeps feeding us worthless “cute” features instead of reworking potions, food, combat, enchantments, exploration, etc. I mean, I do understand it, but that wouldn’t lead Minecraft to anything good, at least not for the players.

    HORRIBLE CHANGE, THIS IS MINECRAFT, NOT TERRARIA, NOT ELDEN RING, NOT LEGEND OF ZELDA. STOP MAKING OUR GAME LOOK REALISTIC, this is MINECRAFT, we kill a DRAGON, THAT IS NOT REALISTIC. Minecraft has gotten worse ever since they sold it to Microsoft stop making the game easier, stop making it realistic, make it fit the game.

    There is an old texture pack included, and pre-installed with every copy of the game I'm pretty sure. I see some people saying this is ruining the game for them, but you can download previous versions at any time. This is not something that'd ever be added today and it's purely coming from nostalgia, which I still understand. However if you're running that hard on nostalgia, play the older versions, keep the old texture packs. Hopefully they will add a more dynamic texture pack thing where you can pick and choose which things you keep modern and which old, that would be convenient for everyone. But begging to keep things old and basic because of nostalgia is not gonna push the game forward, even if this change specifically is just a visual one.

    Now they've decided to change the baby aquatic animals, as well as adding the Golden Dandelion to stop the growth of baby animals instead of at least making it a toggleable feature. 😒

    I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this. Can't believe I will have to add even more mods to fix the game and Mojangs mistakes if they do this... what is up with this mentality of changing things and worst of all they are changing something we like and were used to for years. Do they even play the game that they work on. 

    Add new animals and mobs instead! I have played since the early days of the game like many of you and we know what is true 'Minecraft'.

    Also the original baby animals are in the movie are they just going to retcon part of their brand new movie?

    And lastly the rabbits are the worst and should be a separate mob. The old rabbits are surrounding my base, living around it. It will be so weird to log on and see giant abomination rabbits with overdone new animations that don't fit in Minecraft.

    honestly i feel the same. at the moment / the past few day i been considering changing games. due to the fact i feel like Mojang doesnt know what to do next and just looking for projects to act like there busy. i was kind of hyped for the wolf update and then a few weeks later i heard the the new sounds they make and hated it and now if i do get a pet its never a dog (unless i turn off sound). and then now with the new animal models i think there ok but they dont look Minecraft-y anymore and i cant really avoid them. i really wish Mojang would go back to posting 1 major update once a year so they would actually have time to plan and develop some cool and Minecraft-y things. because to me Minecraft's updates lately feel copy and pasted such as the mace and the spear both weapon has similar gimmick (the more you do x the more damage). sorry for the rant but i feel like this should be said.

    The originals were so much cuter! They shouldn’t have forced these new baby’s into an update and force it on everyone they should have just made it a texture pack if they wanted it so badly! Minecraft please think of all your OG players! We don’t need updates like this! We love it in its original form! We loved the simplicity! I absolutely love OG Minecraft and it’s gotten me through some rough patches in my life but I don’t think I can continue to support Minecraft if it keeps changing what we know and love! Don’t get me wrong the chicken is cute but’s everything else needs to go!especially the baby pig! The original was the most adorable baby in there!

    This update is singlehandedly one of the worst Minecraft updates I have ever witnessed in my 12 years of playing. I have NEVER been displeased with an update until now. The baby mobs update was absolutely unnecessary and uncalled for. The mob models are actually TERRIBLE. I have never gone out of my way to voice my opinion about a Minecraft update. This is actually just that bad. Please remove this. Or give an option to revert. I hate everything about this.
