Map Marking and Scrolling

Even the larger 4x4 version of the map we built is still too small. Currently, to track my progress and exploration, I use a compass with a magnet to find my way back home. If I go too far, I have to write down the coordinates to remember I've already passed a certain location, or even build structures with torches to mark my passage. But it would be much more effective to mark this on the map (like a treasure map concept). Furthermore, the map could scroll in all directions according to the coordinates that are overwritten, allowing it to go up, down, left, or right. This is because we already get lost when the marker no longer indicates our position, only which side of the map we're on.
