minecraft animated skin not working

I have this minecraft skin that I paid for and whenever I join my girlfriend's relm it automatically puts a steve skin on. I can't change it, I can't add things to it just steve. so i was wondering how I could fix this because i've tried literally every method in the book and i paid money to use that skin, not for it to turn into a steve skin. so please help.ohh and it works fine when i'm alone and when i join her that's when it doesn't work. and don't say to turn off "only allow trusted skins" because i already did that and it didn't work
