Have a Never ending mode where there is no end to the game. There are weekly or monthly (in game time) challenges with objectives that are required. Problems that need to be solved and quests that the player takes on. Can be consequences for not completing challenges. Intricate quests and simple quests. Some challenges use mobs but some don't in order to allow players to play without mobs. Challenges could include "Cure cow plague" where player has to make a portion to help the cows, "tectonic shift" where player has to mine certain blocks to prevent upcoming earthquake, "Enhance a village" where player makes a village more functional and complete leading to happier villagers. Debuffs and environmental problems, etc. for failing challenges. Keep users engaged by having life long challenges, puzzles to solve, goals to reach, and problems to avoid.
