I personally think there are enough forest biomes already (oak, birch, spruce etc.), they just now need an update. I was thinking that in general, the trees in these areas are too densely packed together and must be distanced apart a few more blocks to ensure us players can get through more easily and view what’s around us better. Secondly, it would be amazing to see if the vegetation could be even further spaced out by putting them at various levels of terrain (like in an amplified world type) to give an extra challenge to people who have to go higher for resources. I know we already have mountains, but these ascend too slowly in a slope-like way and I want us to go almost completely straight upwards where we can search for trees even at the summit in a separate biome type, possibly without snow. Not only would this look spectacular, it could contain caves (which may or may not connect to underground caves at the regular surface level) including mobs that spawn inside and could come out and kill you. This situation could also occur at night when most enemies spawn, meaning the player would have to start all the way at the bottom again. They might fall off as well and die of fall damage (if high enough), so now there are two risks to exploring this biome. Also, with plenty of space structures could generate some where around these peaks, leaving more to reach up high. I think it’s good idea as the sky is very empty right now compared to elsewhere, there could be rewards.
