The Gujarati language, along with the many other languages of the Indian sub-continent such as Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, etc., would not only be a productive addition to the game, but one that is also welcomed by the Minecraft community.
This post specifically pertains to the Gujarati language and script, but many of the suggestions can be applied to other languages, such as Hindi (also uses diacritic marks and conjunct characters)
I would like to see better text support for the Gujarati script. As of now, a person is able to type in the script if they have the keyboard installed on their PC, but they are not able to properly apply diacritic marks onto consonants or make conjunct characters (ex: ત્ર [tra] will appear as "ત ્ ર" [ta + ra]). Which creates extreme difficulty when trying to use wooden signs and Book & Quills. I would also like to see Gujarati numerals supported as well.
I would also like to see better font used for the script as well. Currently, Unicode is used when characters of the Gujarati script are written, and the writing is small and difficult to read.
My final suggestion would be to add full translations for all the items and UIs in the game, which can be done through community support.
The Why: I believe this implementation will make Minecraft more accessible to those in the community, who do not know the English language. Bonus: I believe that Minecraft can be a wonderful game for language learning, so this change can expose people to a new language! Thanks!
