With the handpan instrument being such an integral part of Minecraft's old music, surely it has a place in the game's official music-making capabilities, right? Well, having a copper block under a noteblock could be a nice way to do it! Copper handpans exist, so it wouldn't be too out of left field. The handpan sound could provide a softer, more metallic chime.
Optionally, oxidation levels on the copper block could affect the timbre of the sound, which is sustained for less time as the copper gets more oxidized. Waxing copper could lock in the timbre for more customization.
