What is parity? This category is designed just for features that exist but work one way on one platform, and another way on a different platform. Bugs are not parity! Items in snapshots and betas are subject to change so please be sure to only post about things that are currently released in Minecraft. Please read the intro post before you post!

There's some of these that I can understand but yeah, most of these should just be a thing in both versions

Also please bring back the fully frozen ocean. Boating is so fun in those areas and aids us in our exploration. You do want us to explore the Minecraft world right? You want parity? Bring them over to Java so that the Java player base may enjoy them too, just as how we Bedrock players enjoy them.

So many good features removed instead of enhancing java 🤦‍♂️

Agreed - Especially the ones that impact functionality or ease of accessibility! Animal eating sounds give players an auditory confirmation that they are successfully feeding the animal. And come on, maps should have the directional pointer. Take the time and effort to improve that feature for Java instead of making the game objectively worse on Bedrock.

If you are going to focus on parity, why not prioritize "adding missing Java features to Bedrock" instead of ripping things out?

If you are going to focus on parity, why not prioritize adding off hand and clearing your inventory of the same thing with one click onto bedrock.

100% agree! I understand parity, but Why the focus on removing features instead of adding them? Makes no sense.

If it’s not broken, don’t fix it!
Mojang please undo the parity features that had no reason to be taken from Bedrock.

I miss the button on fence one as a builder, it's like they don't want us to add details to builds.

Hard agree. Stop gimping Bedrock because certain people prefer Java, let both be unique.

The removal of campfires burning things was the clearest indication that Mojang sees Java as the true version of Minecraft and is willing to ignore both logic (fires make burn happen) and player satisfaction in favor of stamping Java's faults all over bedrock.

I was so confused when I couldn't sprint above water anymore, its made bringing animals across water on a lead so tedious.

Some of these featured would 100% improve java. Why hurt one over the other. Let's make both great. Listen to your community.

I agree with most of the posts here. I understand the idea of parity, but why is bedrock the one that’s always suffering? Stop taking our features away, especially when we don’t get things like off hand or quasi connectivity redstone or fast healing, to name a few. It almost feels like they’re trying to make bedrock the lesser of the two. The last few updates I’ve found myself looking for what they’ve taken, not what they added.

I just wish they would listen to their customers. I know of no Bedrock players that asked for parity. It seems parity has more to do with what the Devs, want and nothing to do with what we the players want.

    Amen to whomever posted this!
I as a bedrock player mainly want full off hand capability on bedrock... combat is more of an important parity issue to me rather than mojang removing staple bedrock features that are mentioned in this post.

I like how they refer Minecraft Bedrock as just "Minecraft," but it's not the definitive version at all. They're removing good features and trying to make it in line with Java Edition... So is Java the definitive version now? It's hilarious that they tried so hard to make Minecraft Bedrock the main edition and they love to advertise it everywhere, but there's nothing to show for it. Microtransaction popups galore, many years of game breaking updates that only recently been talked about now for some reason. I can go on and on, everyone I know has quit this version because of how untested it's been. This is live service levels of broken, what are we doing Mojang?

Exactly. Achieving parity by REMOVING features is lame. Mojang wants to get away from the lazy image but then do this.

Similar story with copper bulbs. Nerfing them in Java because Bedrock couldn't keep up.

This shouldnt be a phenomenon thats just "accepted". Its a very bad philosophy imo.

Im a 38 year old Minecrafter from java to bedrock edition. I have a son whom plays Minecraft on xbox series x. He & I will not allow mojang to remove bedrock features As for why we choose to play bedrock. I play bedrock on pc and it was fun untill 1.21.120 😢 neither of us will be playing Minecraft bedrock or java for that matter at all next year for 2026.

Screw mojang... Microsoft destroyed that studio's quality of work and respect for their player base

Maintaining two different versions of a game with subtle differences works for Pokémon. No reason it can't be a good thing for Minecraft if Mojang treats them equally in development, advertising, and support.

Agreed with the post! Bring back our features and don’t do the same mistake twice if you can’t add this features to Java Edition then just leave them as exclusive for Bedrock Edition only.

It seems that they want to get to the same point in both games as fast as possible, despite everyone wanting to both have these features. I think that they should be trying to make both editions have their quirks, rather than just being coded in different languages. I wish to have two different, quriky editions over one rather depressing selection of Java or c++ *'editions'. (* the term is used in a way that it is not utilised as intended.) Mojang is doing what it can, but Microsoft is, in this case, superior, even though they can't Handel using more than a singular coin. Come on, it will almost always cost a pretty penny. The excuse that Java can't handel it is off because of mod makers, c++ is even very similar, you can't run a game by screwing everyone over, and now you are going to loose not just money, but players too. Mobile and console devices aren't as they were, times have changed, but Microsoft has not, they can now hold more than 1/2 a byte of memory, more than 2 bytes of storage. In fact, they era more powerful than ever, so I am so ticked off about Microsoft's lack of care towards a beloved game I have a ratio for them: it is people who agree to people who don't. 1: 10000
Note: This is only dissing Microsoft's handling of minecraft, Do not under any circumstances take this out of context.

Bro we already either already have some of these or we’re getting them soon or it’s already a thing but it’s named different like horses being able to swim (Mounts of Mayhem feature)

I really don't understand rolling out new features when there is such a lack of parity across platforms. This is just begging for harsh criticism. Some minor things I can understand, but more important things like off-hand capabilities, quasi-connectivity, differences in Wither strength, and more are just unacceptable. I haven't seen any real communication from devs about efforts to close the gaps and it's frustrating and disappointing to the users.
