I have an idea for world generation that could make survival and creative worlds much more interesting. Right now, the “Single Biome” world type only applies the chosen biome to the Overworld. What if we could pick a different single biome for each dimension – the Overworld, the Nether, and the End?
Each dimension could have its own pool of biomes, and at the top of each list there would be a “default” option. Choosing “default” would generate the biomes normally in that dimension, just like today. Structures typical for the selected biome would also generate normally in that dimension, so for example, if you choose End Highlands in the Nether, End Cities could spawn there.
Imagine spawning in a world where the Overworld is only Nether Wastes, in the Nether is for example End Highlands and the End is only Plains. That would be hilarious, right?
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Would you try it, and which biome combinations would you pick? Do you think it would make survival more fun or more challenging?
