Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

overal more colorful options could be really nice for decorating, color matching and color coding (especially chests and barrels), many mods add color options for chests, and them being just different color with same pattern is all fine by me, we dont need necessarily new patterns and designs, like doors are getting for each wood, just new shade and color is nice too, with chests may be issue however then sheer amount of chest boats supposedly required if they would keep chest color and boat color independent, cool for expressing your favorite design, but not sure how performance/game friendly it would be (maybe would be no issue), and we would have to get as many trap chest variants

being at it, barrels also having color variants could be nice, or book shelves, item frames (frame and leather background as well)

I surely would like to see dark furnace variants since they can be crafted of blackstone and deeplate too, only issue there could be, I guess, uninitiated players assuming it is stronger furnace or something, while it isnt

more material-dependent blocks would surely be nice to have more options to match within builds of different types

Yeah, these are all great suggestions actually (and the boat chest does prove a problem. Perhaps you could only craft boat chests of the same variant?).

Furnaces and barrels having variants sounds very feasible though.
