Introduce a new late-game progression system in the End Update, where players mine a rare End-exclusive fusion ore found only in End Highlands, deep voids, or new End biomes. This ore is used to fuse elytra and chestplates, gated behind new End structures and the Netherite Anvil. Fusion templates drop rarely from End cities, shulker vaults, or new End raid structures, requiring thorough End exploration. The Netherite Anvil (crafted from an anvil, netherite block, and template) functions as a durable combined anvil/smithing table for repeated fusions, unlocked through End loot. Merged Elytra-Chestplate crafted on the Netherite Anvil (chestplate + elytra + fusion ore + template) yields one wearable item, granting full chestplate protection and elytra flight. Fusion durability equals iron chestplate and is consumed during use; Mending and Unbreaking affect originals, which remain undamaged while fused. Separation occurs when fusion durability breaks or manually (e.g., grindstone), applying ~15% durability loss to both items and requiring new ore/template to refusion. Armor trims extend visuals to elytra wings while fused, reverting after separation. Resource costs, durability loss, and End exploration gating balance usage, preserving trade-offs. This system expands End verticality, mobs, and gear without obsoleting existing content, enhancing the End as the ultimate mobility and progression hub without changing the end from the desolate place it's supposed to be.
