Minecraft Bedrock Edition should have full off-hand support like Java Edition, but designed properly for mobile controls. My proposed system uses a simple 3-finger layout that feels natural: the right thumb controls the main hand actions like mining, attacking, or placing blocks, the left thumb controls movement, and a dedicated off-hand button at the top left is activated by the left index finger. This would let players use shields, torches, food, totems, or arrows instantly without switching items, improving combat, building, mining, and speedrunning.
It keeps the screen clean with no extra
clutter and could be optional under
"Advanced Controls" for players who prefer
classic layout. This design gives Bedrock
true dual-wield functionality while still being
comfortable and efficient on mobile
bringing Java-style mechanics to Pocket
Edition in a way that makes sense for
touchscreen gameplay
