Bread is my main source of food in Minecraft but you need a lot of wheat to make bread, and it is difficult to automate a wheat farm. Glow berries could be a useful alternative for bread. π Glow berries would need to be changed so when bonemeal is applied, it will extend the vine, and glow berries will appear on the lowest vine. This method would be useful for automated farms. Three glow berries could be crafted into glow bread, and it would give you three glow bread (π₯π₯π₯). The bread would be a light-orange color.
Glow Bread
Glow bread tastes like lemon bread. It restores 5 (πππ) hunger and 12 hunger saturation. It would also clear the blindness effect and the darkness effect, and it would grant a hidden effect for 3 minutes similar to night-vision that only increases the brightness to a light level of 3. This would grant you just enough light to see in a dark cave without replacing the need for torches or night vision. It would have a 10% chance of granting regeneration for 2.5 seconds, instead of restoring hunger/saturation. Glow bread would be especially useful for the Bedrock version because hunger depletes a lot faster compared to Java.
