I have been wanting to work on bringing awareness to the waning issues of disappearing wetlands across the world & whilst notable ones like swamps and mangroves have been addressed, I would like to bring out the northern marshes into Minecraft if possible.
Characteristics of the Biome:
- Often flat and with limited amounts of trees, the main source of wood in the biome could come from cattails, both low growing short ones & tall ones with the little seed bulbs harvestable through shears & silk touch, regrowable with bone meal on mud. These would also drop potentially 1-3 sticks when broken normally much like dead bushes. They could be placed upon dirt, mud, grass, & gravel prospectively.
- Addressing difficult renewal of lily pads through more static means using water lilies. A plant that can be bonemealed on the water, spreading new lily pads to adjacent sides of each of the water lily. Frequently found on the waters surface in the marsh, & shearable for a lily (usage for magenta dye) & a lily pad, & silk touched for the whole block.
- Frogs could be naturally green here, significantly giving them a natural home as the biome would often border spruce and taiga biomes.
- Now onto the features of the biome itself, as naturally it would be more plains like and dotted with patches of water lined with mud, gravel, and occasional clay giving it a chilled swamp vibe. The cattails would dot along some of these gray greened (algae) water patches in place of some of the grass (pale green).
Hopeful!
