Hello Mojang team!
I would like to suggest a new arrow type for Minecraft — the Illuminating Arrow.
Concept:
When this arrow hits a block, it creates a temporary light source (for example, light level 14) for 10–20 seconds. It does not place a torch or any permanent block — it only emits light. The glow fades over time and then disappears completely.
Why this would be useful:
Helps players explore large caves and ravines safely.
Allows scouting dark areas from a distance.
Useful in early game when players don’t have many torches.
Doesn’t break game balance because the light is temporary and doesn’t replace torches.
Would be a great addition alongside spectral and tipped arrows.
How it could work:
Crafted by combining an arrow with glowstone dust, glow ink, or another glowing material.
Light appears exactly where the arrow lands.
Light disappears after a short duration.
I think this feature fits Minecraft naturally and adds a fun, practical tool for exploration.
Thank you for considering the idea!
