If you’re tempted to say "thanks, but no". Check the advantages it has!
- Players: Game is smoother, have a free version, Potato PCs can run shaders and more mods
- Modders: Modders get money for their work to justify the transition (more modders are tempted to make/update their mods)
- Youtubers: The updates will open ground for much more content
- Microsoft: reduced piracy, lower costs from maintaining one edition, increased revenue
How to achieve all that?
By making JAVA the default version, but coded as Bedrock — clean and more efficient, less buggy — But? what about java needed bugs? Well, make the "bugs" default behavior! That simple. Add the possibility to build above bedrock, piston quasi-connectivity and SO ON!
What about conflicted behaviors? Well, many redstone have cobblestone in it, So, ex: make the device work as bedrock if you use normal cobblestone or JAVA if you use deep cobblestone
Open a forum Microsoft, for what to change or not!
Finally, Minecraft with an inbuild store for mods. Full supported and with some ads on the sides + 1 ad if you download. Both Microsoft and modder get a share (like youtube), you can postpone it for when you open game, so if you download 30 mods you open your game with 1 30 second ad for the next 30 times
Following the same logic, Minecraft can be free for anyone to play it, but with a 30 sec ad on the start if you don’t buy it. Between pirate and a 1 ad bf opening game, I think the choice is clear. + pep who don’t buy will pay > $20 on long run...
