I would like to suggest an update to the food system, especially beetroot dishes. The idea is to add foods with short effects, weaker than potions, but with time that stacks as you keep eating. If a potion lasts 180s, each of 16 servings could give about 11.25s to match the total.
Β
All dishes stay normal until a βmagic vegetableβ is obtained, an ingredient extremely hard to find, harder than Nether wart or Blaze Rods, and not plantable. It must be searched in a very dangerous biome or structure. Only with this ingredient (optionally mixed with Sniffer plants) do dishes gain cumulative magical effects. The player can eat without limits, with an optional 8-minute cap or no cap at all, and would still need many bowls.
Β
The cauldron becomes essential. Each recipe uses many vegetables (10+ types), meats, and extra items, takes about 2 real minutes to cook, and produces 4 bowls per batch. Bowls are strong but costly, keeping basic foods like meat, bread, and fruit useful. Dish quality can vary: undercooked bowls give lower results; perfectly cooked ones give full saturation and effect. Light symbolic side-effects (like feeling very full for a moment) can exist without negative debuffs.
Β
Bowls could stack up to 16. Eggs could become real food, and several would equal one piece of chicken. The cauldron could support advanced recipes, and Sniffer plants would gain real value in survival.Β
