The Calibrated Hopper is a new Hopper variant designed as a native, single-block item filter. Its goal is to simplify sorting systems and, most importantly, allow efficient filtering of non-stackable items (armor, tools, etc.) which is currently complex with Redstone. It uses Amethyst for "calibration" and the template logic of the Crafter.
Crafted with a Hopper and 3 Amethyst Shards (one above, one on each side of the Hopper).
The Calibrated Hopper has 5 slots that are exclusively for filtering, using the Crafter's template logic:
Filter Setting (Template): Place one instance of an item in a slot to set the filter. The template item is not moved or consumed.
Selective Movement: The block will only pull and push the exact item types present in its 5 filter slots. All other items are ignored.
Non-Stackable Support: This design easily filters all item types, including armor, tools, and potions.
To preserve the utility of the regular Hopper (which moves everything):
If all 5 filter slots are completely empty, the Calibrated Hopper will remain inactive. It will neither pull from above nor push downwards, forcing the player to "calibrate" it before it can function.
This block eliminates the need for bulky Redstone circuits, significantly reducing world lag and providing a simple, space-efficient solution for non-stackable item sorting.
