I think that another combat rework overhaul is a bad idea, since most people had already spent years of their life in studying, learning, & mastering 1.9+ PvP. & The CTS changes kinda removes the depth of it, so it might not actually fix the divide within the combat community if years of hard work of their life goes down the drain just like that.
But i do have a proposal, the 1.8 people's one of the biggest complaints about 1.9+ PvP is bc how slow-paced combat is. So why not just fix that?
So what i really fancy from the CTS changes is the eat/drink interruptions mechanic so your enemy wouldn't be able to heal mid-fight.
The other is the cleave enchantments for axes so they wouldn't have to share with the Sword's enchantments, IDC how much DMG it'll deal as long as it brings back fast-paced combat.
& Lastly the Pots stacking feature, i think that the 1.8 people are really just less-skillful players so this is perfect for em! Since it'll ease stuff up a lil bit, but make it a feature too for both splash & lingering pots as well but maybe not as stackable as up to 16 as y'all implemented if y'all would prefer it that way.
IDK about the bow fatigue mechanic though, it's not like it'll make much a difference as it's rarely/barely used anyway. (I think.)
That's all, & don't add anything else. since other changes that i didn't include from the CTS changes kinda doesn't make sense.
This keeps the depth of PvP whilst bringing back fast-paced combat.
