Minecraft Bedrock Edition is the most played and most accessible version of the game, but it still misses several important features that players have wanted for years. One of the biggest requests is full off-hand support, not just shields and totems. Being able to hold torches, fireworks, food, blocks, or tools in the off-hand would make exploration, combat, and building much smoother and would make the game feel more consistent with Java Edition. The recent preview features like the Spear show that Bedrock is already moving toward more advanced combat mechanics, so adding full off-hand support feels like a logical next step.
Another major feature many players want is actual modding freedom on Bedrock. Java players can use free mods, performance mods, shaders, custom clients, and even tools that change the entire game. Bedrock players are limited to basic add-ons and paid Marketplace content. Even a safe, sandboxed modding system with more open scripting would allow the community to be more creative and would help the game grow in ways that Marketplace alone cannot.
A third feature that Bedrock players constantly ask for is a version selector. Java players can launch almost any version from the last 15 years, but Bedrock is always locked to the newest update. A version selector would help map creators, speedrunners, nostalgic players, and servers that want to stay on certain versions. Even allowing only the last several versions would make a huge difference.
