Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Sculk Tombstone

This would be a new sculk block crafted from various sculk materials, such as the sculk catalyst and echo shard (to give it more uses). Similar to a totem of undying, this activates when the player dies. Then, like a sculk catalyst, it starts to spread sculk around the player, but additionally it plants a Sculk Tombstone where the player died, acting as a sort of container for the player's items, keeping them safe until they can be retrieved. The amount of sculk spread around the tombstone depends on how much XP the player had when they died, allowing that too to be retrieved via mining the blocks.

    This could also make the Recovery Compass a bit more useful as well. Typically if you die you are close enough to remember where you died, so you don't need the compass. But if you died really far away, you might not remember where you died so the compass might be useful, but by the time you get there your items may have despawned. Having the Sculk Tombstone would allow your items to be saved while you use the Recovery Compass to locate it

    The items could be buried in the sculk blocks, kind of like suspicious sand/gravel

    This could be a potion effect, like the potion of weaving. You drink it before you death and when you die it spreads sculk
