Minecraft could be improved massively by combining ideas from creators like Nekoma with a few new mechanics for progression, utility, and customization. For example, placing an end crystal on top of a powered beacon could create an anti-air laser cannon that kills phantoms and other flying hostiles — with no cooldowns for max-tier beacons. Elytras should be renewable: when the Ender Dragon is killed, it drops its wings, which can be cut in a stonecutter into 10 elytra templates. Using a new End Merchant villager, players could trade end-themed items (dragon heads, chorus fruit, shulker boxes, etc.) and upgrade templates to craft or upgrade elytras.
An Elytra Chestplate upgrade would then be made with materials like sculk catalysts, soul sand, calibrated sculk sensors, and redstone blocks — granting fire resistance, higher durability, a built-in rocket system for limited-speed flight. Wardens would be passive toward wearers of the Elytra Chestplate, and its bursts of speed could make elytra-mace combat more dynamic.
Deep Dark villagers could also evolve into Echo Librarians when near wardens and sculk sensors, trading Swift Sneak and a new enchantment called Step Up (Step Up I for full blocks, Step Up II for full blocks with a lower slab on top).
