This idea is interesting, but the whole u put a fish on this part doesn't make that much sense and would not really add that much to the game in that sense. wouldn't make more sense if it your jabbed a fish u would just get this item like a skewer? then it kinda ties the whole thing up and finally adds something new to fishing.

Thanks for the spark! You're right: instead of using the spear, it makes more sense to create a dedicated item. I updated the proposal in a more "vanilla" key:

New item: Fish Skewer (salmon/cod; special puffer).

Shapeless recipe 2×2: Stick + Fish ⇒ Skewer (raw).

Cooking: on the bonfire (4 slots), with time equal to the corresponding fish.

Stack: 16 (or 32, open to feedback) to improve inventory.

Nutritional values: identical to fish (the skewer is just a more comfortable shape).

Pufferfish: not cookable; remains edible with malus or just "gag" (which do you prefer?).

Post-consumption: the skewer wears out (no stick returned, cleaner boxes).

So we keep the fantasy of the "steckerfisch", we remain consistent with Minecraft (no special rules on instruments) and we get a real saving of slots for those who cook at the bonfire.

Do you want to tell me what you think about stack 16 vs 32 and puffer: malus or gag?
