Chaining lightning with lightning rods!

It would be cool if lightning that hits a rod could jump to another rod closest to it. I imagine being able to do many different things with this: You could build a Frankenstein-like lair and have lightning bolts just jumping across the room! There is so much building potential with this. You could also make a mechanism which essentially looks like it stores lightning by having four rods in a square, being used like a redstone clock while also looking really cool! This feature could also come with a way to shoot the lightning bolt in certain directions, this could be used as a defense for a base. All in all I believe this feature would benefit a wide variety of Minecraft players and would make thunderstorms a lot more exciting and useful!
