Netherite Horse Armor – The Mat Should Burn, but the Armor Survives

Netherite is known for being indestructible by fire or lava, but if you look closely at the Netherite Horse Armor, it has a mat or cloth layer on top — something that looks flammable.

My idea:

When Netherite Horse Armor is thrown into lava or fire, the netherite part survives, but the cloth mat burns away. This could visually change the armor to a darker, metal-only version, showing that the mat was destroyed.

Optional feature:

Players could repair or restore the mat using leather in a crafting table or smithing interface.
