Nautilus

Baby nautiluses should drop their shells or shell fragments as they grow up, to give another way to acquire the shell, so we don't have to go searching for them in buried treasure all the time.

    It wouldn't make much sense. 

    Moluscs don't swap shells, they make it bigger.

    And I think they have a small chance of dropping the shells when killed.
