make growing azalea trees spawn a random sized patch of rooted dirt

presently growing an azalea tree only spawns a single rooted dirt. I think it should make a random sized patch of rooted dirt , giving you between 1 and 27 rooted dirt in a square area, but always one immediately below the plant.
