I agree my friend didn’t receive it and I watched him place a copper golem statue but didn’t receive anything.

Me and my sister both absolutely completed the copper cape challenge, the afternoon after it was made public, Oct 13. I received a notification Oct 17 that my cape was on its way. She received a notification about the announcement of the copper cape challenge on October 14. As neither of us received both messages, it is clear that the inbox does not always work correctly for Minecraft news and notifications. Neither of us have received our copper capes by Nov 19, while we are very quickly approaching 30 full days after the promotion had ended, despite the in-game notification promising that these capes would be sent out 20 days ago while it was still October. There are online communities full of comments about this issue, where those who used the in-game challenge method have yet to receive their cape. I hope this can be resolved for all players who participated in this celebration of the Copper Age Drop. The last possible time to use Cape Codes is apparently Nov 20 at 10am PT, and I would rather that this is resolved before then so I do not have to choose whose account I use my one code on and who goes without the cape they are meant to receive.

I placed a copper golem the day after it was announced and I got a message saying my cape was on the way. I'm playing Bedrock on PC. I also placed a copper golem on my kids xbox and she has not received a cape either. We both received messages that our cape was on the way.

Well, it's 30 days after the contest ended and there are no capes! I read in another post someone said they contacted support and support told them that they could not verify that they had placed a copper golem. Basically, Microsoft and Mojang have lost the communities trust. These capes are a one time thing and there is never a second chance. Now I will always remember how Microsoft and Mojang let down the whole Bedrock community whenever I see someone with a copper cape.

Oh yeah, I forgot this happened on a Realm where I am paying extra for every month!

Same thing here, I did the quest and mojang sent me a message in the notifications tab saying I had completed it and would be sent to me by the end of October but I still haven’t received it

Given the amount of people affected and that it seems that Mojang have admitted that if you chose the placing a statue method then they cannot identify it and therefore we didn’t get the cape, it seems like the only option is to just release it in a patch.

Will we ever receive it? I placed two golem statues and have heard nothing about it from the game.

Same here. I have the in-game notification saying my cape is on the way.

Support were no help. Time the issue was publicly recognized by Mojang.

It’s almost December and I still haven’t gotten my copper cape. I believe it shouldn’t be this hard to add pixel art to an account

Like some of the others, I placed the golem and never got an email saying anything. But when I tried contacting support about it they told me to wait until November 20th since that's 30 days after the event. I opened a ticket and was told I had to prove I did the event. Well, obviously, I didn't record placing the copper golem statue, the T&C never said to, and now the support just tells me that because I can't prove I placed the golem, they won't give me the cape. I took a picture of the golem statue I placed during the event, but never moved, just in case (I did continue playing on that world though), and they say my screenshot isn't proof, so they won't honor it. And both times they've closed my tickets without allowing me to ask for a manager or ask how I'm supposed to prove I did the event. The event that never said I had to prove it in the T&C. Mojang doesn't care about anyone on Bedrock. Not getting the cape is probably due to a bug they caused, and they'd rather just blow off their players than do anything to fix the issue.

I placed the copper statues twice on two different world and had screen recordings and screenshots of both that I submitted to Minecraft support and they said they were insufficient proof despite being time stamped on the 17th of October.

Well based upon what others have said about Mojang not being able to detect if you have placed the statue, support insisting upon evidence of the placement of the statue (not in the T&C) and them choosing to not accept timestamped evidence, it now appears that the company has committed fraud.

    Hello!

Thanks for asking about the Copper Cape granted for participating in Copper Cape Quest.

If your participation in events made you eligible for the rewards, please show the documentation that you participated in the event and send us proof that you completed the requirements for the item you’re requesting within 30 days of receiving this message. You can reply to this message and attach screenshots in .jpg or .png format that verify that you’re eligible.

Oh, sure buddy, could you send me a list of the documentation that you would accept and I will get it to you right away. It feels like you could have done that from the beginning instead of putting the onus on me. I did pay for the game, a realm and Xbox live just to play this game. You could definitely be doing more of the work instead of trying to brush me off with ridiculous request.

Thank you for your response. We are currently unable to provide a checklist of things or screenshots you need to provide proof.

As such, we couldn’t confirm your eligibility and can’t grant your request. Please look for future opportunities to participate in Minecraft events on Minecraft.net.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Best regards,
    Koree S.

If this isn’t the right place to report this where do we go to do so?

I got my notification too, but no cape, and it's the 29th of November now, where tf is my cape? I almost didn't even see the event in time, so I barely did it in time, but no cape. I'm tired of waiting Minecraft, just give me my cape and all the others you've shorted out of their capes too

Same. I got a notification that it was on its way but it's been a month since I should've gotten it and its still not there.

Oh my days, dude. I've been looking everywhere to see if anyone else was having this problem!!!

I placed down a fully oxidized copper golem several times in my world and, what do you know, nothing is in my account still. I deliberately went out of my way to launch Bedrock on PC, of which is something I basically never do anymore, just to complete this challenge.

And to rub salt in the wound, I got the watch time reward too! But because I was busy around the time I received it, I didn't know I got a code until it expired. So now I'm just sitting here wondering if they'll fix this or what. This is honestly ridiculous, especially since if they can't even keep track of who completed the in-game activity, they should have never listed it as a way to get the cape.

Seriously. So frustrating, and honestly more than just a little bit disappointing.

What is really disappointing is that they are not even recognizing to the community that there was a problem/bug with their system. To state that an in-game notification is not proof of eligibility essentially suggest we did not complete properly or are lying . . . .

    Hi all.

    SUCCESS!

So i had to send support a video capture of me logging in to minecraft, showing the notification re the cape, and the cape inventory showing it not there. I used discord for the video capture.

    Cape is now there.

When I tried to give them a screen recording they said they could only accept jpeg and png. So how did you get them to look at a video?

    Ok, here is the fix.

Go to the bell in the bottom left hand of the login screen, where you would go to see about new Minecraft news, and scroll down until you see a notification that says “Your cape is on the way.” Take a screenshot of this and also take a screenshot of your cape inventory.

If you play bedrock, look for this notification on your pc, phone, xbox and play station as it may only be in one of those locations despite playing on more than one of them.

I normally play on pc, but I found the notification on my phone. I think uninstalling and reinstalling as a troubleshooting step for the recent memory leak may have erased my message logs, but that is just speculation as it may have never been there to begin with.

After you have both screenshots, go to mojang support. They will not let you open a ticket right away. You will need to say you need help with account and then keep clicking account until it gives you a list of articles. Open one, it doesn’t matter which one, and then scroll to the bottom. There you will see “contact support.” Create a new ticket there with your screen shots.

Mojang, I’ll be waiting for you to contact me about a support role with your company. I use to do support for Apple and NAPA. I have some great ideas that would help you out.

To the person asking about a jpeg instead of a video. You can try taking a screen shot of the video, but they may only accept a screenshot of the notification.

Success! Thank you to the one who said to use screenshots. It is literally just getting a ticket started, explaining that you used the statue method but didn’t get the cape, got the notification about the cape being on its way (get a picture or screenshot of the message) and say that you still haven’t received it (include a picture of your cape collection). They will then add it to your account.
