Imagine you're in the Nether, exploring and breaking blocks like ore or quartz. Suddenly, you fall into lava and die. It's incredibly frustrating, especially if you had valuable items or things you worked hard to gather, like bone blocks or gold nuggets.
If you "save" your world (quit) and then re-enter, you'll literally still have nothing. That "save" (which is terrible) also updates the moment you died.
One of my ideas was a better save system. You save your game while in the Nether, and if you fall into lava, you activate the menu and restart so the player is no longer in the lava but walking around.
