Sand is still not easily renewable, and the developers previously said they would only consider adding a renewable sand mechanic if they made changes to deserts. Now that a new mob — the Parched — has been added, I propose that it be able to drop sand. Even a low drop chance would allow players to build farms or technical contraptions to obtain sand automatically, finally making sand renewable without changing world generation. This would open up useful technical gameplay while keeping sand relatively rare.
