it's no secret that piglins like gold. the game makes an effort to convey that they accept you as one of their own if you wear gold armor. I propose that the more gold you wear the more they should be willing to give you in trades. and conversely the more gold THEY wear compared to you the LESS they will give you.
their trading system is already very simple, and this would add a layer of emergent behavior on top of it. they would appear to respect you more or be more intimidated by you depending on whether you have more gold armor than them. this creates a very rudimentary hierarchy system to their behavior. each gold armor piece worn would award an internal "gold prestige" point along with normal armor points. the more gold prestige you have compared to any given piglin the more loot they give. the actual loot table would stay the same, but the amounts of each drop would change based on the relative gold prestige.
piglins would pick the closest non piglin entity to trade with and check their prestige level. as it is entities and not just players this will include armor stands.
gold armor is currently useless except to placate piglins and players quickly pick up that gold boots are the cheapest option. this proposed change expands the usage of gold armor while keeping the low durability and adds more risk vs reward to early to mid-game nether exploration. do you waste inventory carrying a full set of gold armor? or do you risk dying by wearing it constantly to carry more loot
