Why not just add a cool down to Charge instead of it costing resources

I don't really get why the weapon can't just have a cooldown for the charge attack. I get wanting it to have a cost for using it, but sweeping edge has a cooldown too and doesn't cost hunger or durability so why can't the spear have it the same?

    YESSS the problem now is that you can just spam it without giving time to do anything. A small cooldown would be enough. Maybe more cooldown the more you charge so you can do a lot of damage but if you fail or already did the attack you have to resist until you can attack again.
