Now it consumes too much hunger.

Now it consumes too much hunger.

I like the idea that the player gets tired from using the lunge, like stamina.

But now you have to be eating constantly. Well, it can be solved with suspicious soups of saturation, but it's not profitable.

The ideal balanced point would be for it to now consume half the hunger it consumed before, and that other half of the penalty is returned to durability, and with Unbreaking III, it's likely it won't be spent.

But making the hunger penalty is something I like, just not so much.

Or simply add more cooldown so it's not overexploited by players.

Although keep in mind that Ender Pearls and Riptide already exist, the lunge isn't as broken as Mojang thinks; there are more powerful items.

    The thing is that riptide takes a little to launch you and only works in water/rain and ender pearls can't be stacked, have a cooldown and take a moment to land. But yeah how much it consumes is absurd.

    I think it should take the same durability that riptide does on tridents, and maybe lower the hunger cost to 4 for lunge I, 3 for lunge II, and 2 for lunge III.

    Higher tiers could consume more hunger, as it deals more damage.
