Minecraft's loot tables should dynamically adapt based on the Player's progression and advancements so far, this would make exploration and progressing more rewarding depending on what advancements you have so you aren't in full diamond enchanted gear and end your adventure with 3 stacks worth of copper horse armor.
For example:
Suit up > chests can now include iron tools and armor.
Cover Me with diamonds > chests can now include diamond gear.
Zombie Doctor > potion-related loot becomes stronger, or chests containing emeralds contain more.
An adaptive loot system would make progression closer to player achievements making exploration feel like a journey instead of more rng.
Benefits:
Prevents overpowered early game finds.
Makes advancements more meaningful like mini side quests.
Keeps exploration rewarding at all stages of the game.
In short adaptive chest loot would make Minecraft’s world feel more responsive and alive, your accomplishments would shape what treasures you'll discover next.
