The Carcaj is an item that was delated from minecraft beta, it was supposed to hold the arrows of the bow and was never added because it was considered useless. I had an idea for a rework that could help to save some inventory space.
First, you should be allowed to place the Carcaj in the same slot as the Bow, creating an item called "Bow and Carcaj"; left clicking it would allow you to move it in your inventory like normal; but right clicking it would open an interface similar to the one Bundles have; where you could place 3 stacks of arrows at maximum; and the arrows in the first slot are the ones you shoot first (that would also help with the current problem of the order in which you shoot the arrows).
Implementing this idea would make it so just one item (crafted like a Bundle, but with an Iron nugget in its recipie) contains a bow and three stacks of arrows, freeing three slots in total.
Of corse, you could still shoot arrows like normal without the Carcaj; but as the crafting recipie is cheap and saves some space (and would allow you to shoot different arrows depending on which Bow and Carcaj you are currently holding in your hand) i think a lot of playes would use this feature.
