Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

I like this as a source of resources, but Mojang might not like it, because lava is now renewable, so it's basically free resources for minimal work. I know there are hundreds of auto farms, but they are actual structures you have to plan out and build, whereas you only need drip stone and a cauldron for infinite lava.

yes, I am aware it would be free resource generator, it could also just consume only magma and nothing else, yes, it is renewable as well but closer to other "mob farms" since magma cream is dropped from magma cubes or crafted of blaze powder and slime, all being mob drops

if we make only viable coolants ice blocks, then fully automatic methods arent even possible (as far I know ice cant be really farmed AFK in reasonable ways)

most you would get would be also "junk" items as stone variants you may desire but also can be acquired quite easily (in regular world), and nuggets or ore should drop only rarely, so it would be slow even if processing individual blocks would be relatively fast, of course idea is also it would cool down stuff slower than furnaces do

placing it intentionally behind acquiring netherite, which itself has surely uses, also justifies it feeling kind of OP, however with well balanced "loot table", I believe it could be reasonable even without netherite, feeding it coolant and magma, as well as managing outputs would be also factor, since some contraptions using existing mechanics would be needed to make it anyhow actually useful
indeed I can see using lava directly may be too easy, despite even that setup needs some work to get (I could argue comparable or even more than many AFK mob farms), it is why one of ideas was as lava could cool only into magma blocks, adding another step, if process would be slow, it would surely make whole thing more balanced
