Introduce a new mechanic that lets players fuse Smithing Templates with Enchanted Books to create Enchanted Trim Books — special items that grant small, context-based attribute bonuses when used for armor trims. This expands the Smithing Table’s purpose, deepens biome identity, and adds subtle progression without breaking balance.
Core Concept
Craft an Enchanted Trim Book by combining a Smithing Template with an Enchanted Book. The book’s enchantment defines the bonus, and only one enchantment can apply per trim for balance. These are then used in the Smithing Table as: Base Armor + Material + Enchanted Trim Book.
Example Effects
Silence Trim + Swift Sneak → +10% sneaking speed or reduced sculk detection.
Ward Trim + Protection → +5% damage reduction underground.
Tide Trim + Respiration / Depth Strider → +10% swim speed or +5s breath time.
Vex Trim + Feather Falling → −10% fall damage.
Raiser Trim + Knockback → +5% knockback resistance.
Balance & Design
Bonuses stay minor (5–10%) and non-stacking, using lightweight NBT modifiers compatible with current systems. Enchanted Trim Books reward exploration by adding real utility to decorative trims, linking armor design with lore and environment. They enhance late-game customization and make the Smithing Table a true progression tool.
