Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

THIS IS PERFECT!!! Would be cool if the blocks and bricks let light through without being transparent and also if it maybe was useful for some kind of potion too to give it an extra use.

Honestly the only change I would do is that it just keeps away some specific mobs like undead mobs and some others like creepers or something else so it's good for early game and base protection but that's it.

Yes! I totally agree with keeping the Rock Salt Dust to a minimum of certain mobs, especially ones with rotting flesh. Of course not all hostile mobs would be affected by this. Thank you for pointing that out!

This feels very in-line with their existing “new feature” requirements: at least 2 new purposes! Your version of salt has plenty more! Enhanced food (probably only for meats?), storage block, buildng block, armor trim, light source, and lastly a weird one-off functionality that makes it unique (the mob warding stuff), plus unique worldgen requirements. I love this idea! I think Mojang would take interest in this, but they may for-go the mob warding feature. It feels a bit too mystical for vanilla. I would love to see it added as a way to manipulate mob pathing even further, I just don’t know if Mojang would want to add it to vanilla.

One more idea for salt I just thought of - why not allow it to be used to “cure” rotten flesh into leather? Maybe just via crafting, but could be a good way to implement a long-asked-for feature.

Yes actually I love that idea, I remember thinking that rotten flesh could be cured by salt but didn't know what it'd be cured to, but that would be perfect!

EDIT!: I didn't really know the purpose of a grindstone until after I made this post, my bad! I think a better idea would be to just craft 9 Rock Salt Dust to create 4 Rock Salt Crystals!

I love this idea, I could make some salt mazes in zombie farms, also I love the idea someone else said of being able to cure rotten flesh into leather.
