The calcite block needs an update. Here are some ideas. You can now craft calcite into stairs, slabs and walls. You can now craft polished calcite, stairs, slabs, and walls. You can now craft calcite bricks, stairs, slabs, and walls. You can use polished calcite and calcite bricks to make chiseled versions of calcite. By using a calcite block, a carved pumpkin, and a calcite slab, you can make the calcite golem. Give it an amethyst shard to make it guide you to the nearest, unexplored, amethyst geode. You can now use calcite to craft things you need stone for, like tools, weapons, furnaces, etcetera. You can now make calcite buttons and pressure plates.     this user clearly hates calcite a lot.

    jokes aside i agree that calcite should have more varieties like the other blocks, its like a smoother, cleaner diorite, it should definitely be given as much love as all the other stones, rocks, minerals, and whatnot
