Riptide Trident and Spear partner items

I think riptide tridents should partner with spears. Riptide tridents are much harder to obtain than a saddled and tamed nautilus, yet the nautilus mogs riptide tridents unless players have both an elytra, riptide trident, and its raining. To partner riptide and spears, I think that the spear's charge attack should happen at the same time riptide activates.

For example, either the trident or the spear could be held in the offhand, and when riptide is used in the rain or underwater, the spear's reach and charge attack would combine with riptide, so that the spear could do damage calculated from riptide's speed.

Really, I think that tridents need some kind of win as they are unable to compete with other weapons currently, and at least giving the tridents a partner item could remedy that.
