Let animals eat dropped food items

Let's say you have a dog, if you drop meat in front of the dog than they will eat it and also like sheep, horses and cows with wheat, pigs with carrots, chickens and birds with seeds, cats and dolphins with fish, and so on with what ever the animals eat if you drop it in front of them than they will eat it.( and maybe also you can give stuff to villagers and iron golems)

    Yeah, good idea.  I have a pet at home and this is how I feed that pet, and it would make it more realistic without any major changes, though there should be some moderations:

    It might be annoying if they start eating dropped seeds from crops or just randomly, so maybe only if you do it on purpose or something, and the original method should still work. It would also make dispensers feeding animals possible
