As it is right now, Spears don't feel very fun to use. While neat, their main attack feels far too pitiful to be of any use, and the current mechanic of holding the spear out to charge at enemies feels unreliable and janky. I feel as though it needs a major rework.
Firstly, the charge attack needs a rework. Rather than charging at your enemies, I think it'd be more fun to charge up an attack and then release it at the right timing to stab for big damage. It'd work similarly to the Horse's jumping mechanics, where in you charge up a stab, and can hit multiple enemies for big damage at the peak. Wait too long though, and it'll get weaker.
This alone would already improve the functionality of the weapon far more, as it'd feel a lot more tactile and reliable to aim. The animations could mostly be recycled, though I think they need to be much faster and easier to read on the player's end. It doesn't get rid of the Spear's unique attack speed niche, either. Low tiers charge faster but have tighter timing, and high-tiers charge slower but have lenient timing.
After that is the normal attack. Right now, Spears just feel a bit weak, stats wise. Just some minor tweaks would help it a lot.
As for the Lunge enchant and its functionality, I think it'd be far better suited for this theoretical rework of the Spear on the charge attack itself. It can still exist on the normal attack with a bit less power, but would be far more powerful when charged up, making it really feel like a proper lunge.
