Hi there
I would like to suggest the following mob:
The Coelacanth is a neutral deep-sea mob, larger and heavier than cod, found only in Warm and Lukewarm Deep Ocean biomes. It swims slowly near the seabed and can spawn as juveniles. Players can breed them using cod or salmon buckets.
When near a Coelacanth, players gain Strength I, Resistance I, and Water Breathing I until leaving its aura radius, making it a unique ally for underwater exploration. The Coelacanth hunts small mobs like silverfish, spiders, baby drowned, and baby squids, but otherwise swims peacefully.
Killing a Coelacanth may drop:
Coelacanth Flesh (7.6%) – restores 1.5 hunger but inflicts Poison II and Weakness II. Can also brew Water Breathing potions or craft suspicious stews with short water-breathing.
Coelacanth Scales (4.5%) – rare material for crafting Coelacanth Scale Armor and a Scale Shield.
Coelacanth Scale Armor is stronger than chainmail but weaker than copper armor. Wearing the full set grants the same aura effects as the mob itself (Strength, Resistance, Water Breathing). In multiplayer, nearby allies also share these buffs.
The Scale Shield blocks 70% damage with lower durability than a normal shield. On a successful block, the player gains Resistance I for 5 seconds.
Both armor and shield are fully enchantable.
The Coelacanth brings atmosphere, challenge, and unique gameplay utility, enriching Minecraft’s oceans with a true “living fossil.”
