The journey begins by rescuing a stranded baby whale. Save it with water and push it back to sea to form a lifelong connection. It will return to the shore to visit you every day.
Whales has 2 varieties in size (and age) besides baby ones, once it reach stage 2, it will stop growing naturally.
Once grown, you can sit anywhere on its back and guide it. With its permission, you can place blocks on its back and build! The whale's back provides build grid, allowing for outline selection. Everything you build moves smoothly with the whale. Blocks not connected to the main structure will break, preventing anything strangely get the whale stuck. When you dismount, the construction automatically snaps to the world's grid if the whale is close to a cardinal direction, behaving as normal blocks. Remember don’t place on its blowhole!
Wild pods of whales also enrich deep oceans. Be careful—mother whales don’t want you to touch their calves!
Water (and lava) placed on the whale becomes a shallow "still water" layer, if fully enclosed, it becomes a full source block.
This design follows Mojang's philosophy of solving player needs through organic mobs (like Striders) , rewarding patience with the ultimate bond—a friend, also living, breathing island that changes how players interact with Minecraft's oceans. It also fits Mounts of Mayhem update.
