The Tree Update: Part II

Minecraft’s overworld could feel even more alive with new tree types across forests, deserts, savannas, and jungles. This update would add 10+ new trees, each bringing unique wood, farming value, and atmosphere.

Temperate & Forests:

• Dogwood 🌸 – Small trees with pink/white blossoms, drop petals, pastel wood.

• Hazel 🌰 – Drop hazelnuts, warm brown wood.

• Walnut 🌰 – Drop walnuts, rich dark wood, can make nut butter.

Tropical & Exotic:

• Dragonfruit 🌸 – Twisting, cactus-like trees with  fruit. Dragonfruit restores more hunger than berries.

• Mango 🥭 – Dense jungle trees with golden-brown wood and edible mangos.

Savanna & Desert:

• Sagebrush 🌿 – Small scrubby trees with pale, dusty planks. Drop sage sprigs.

• Olive 🫒 – Medium savanna trees with silver leaves, drop olives used in cooking. Smooth light-brown planks.

Impact:

• Builders gain new palettes: pastel, tropical, and rustic tones.

• Farmers expand crops with fruits and nuts (mango, dragonfruit, olives, hazelnuts, walnuts).

• Explorers discover more unique landscapes in deserts, savannas, forests, and jungles.
