    not all blocks are cubes. This would only work if that was the case.

    Think about all the stairs, slabs, doors, trapdoors, panes, bars, entities, torches, shelves, walls and everything else that is not 1m^2 in length. This is the reason Minecraft won't use voxel raytracing for their Nvidia RTX demo.
