(Similar to the functionality of the "photonics" mod) While raytracing often comes with a drop in performance, I believe that due to the voxelised nature of minecraft, and the existence of 'marching' algorithms such as DDA, implementing the option to use voxel raytracing instead of using triangle rasterisation could actually increase performance. (raytracing would not use ANY triangles, only a voxel grid.) This could start out as a replacement to Bedrock's rtx mode, and then expand to java edition as a toggle.
