Shear Mushrooms to stop spreading

It was recently add that shears stop the growth of vines which I love and really works for builds but I found that when making a biome with podzol and mushrooms the mushrooms continue to grow when I don't need them to and it ruins how the area feels. Also I continuingly have to get rid of lots of mushrooms in this area. So I would love if you could shear mushrooms to stop them spreading just like vines.
